HAHNBECK PUBLISHES LIST OF SAAS AGGREGATORS

With the rise of online retail and the growing role of technology in e-commerce, a new type of institutional acquirer has emerged which focuses on building a portfolio of SaaS products under one roof. SaaS aggregators aim to offer a suite of software solutions to its customers, through acquiring and scaling its product portfolio. The market for SaaS aggregation is still in the early stages and currently there are only a small number of acquirers in the space.

Hahnbeck has published a list of known institutional acquirers focused on this space, along with their current product portfolio and funding details.

Background

Technology is the foundation of e-commerce. Rapid development in technology has been transforming the world of online retail, enabling online retailers to connect with customers in new ways to deliver a more enjoyable and seamless online shopping experience.

We have seen new technologies emerge across the entire e-commerce value chain, from sales to delivery, returns to payment management, and marketing to customer service. Brand builders are increasingly relying on innovative technologies to attract the attention of consumers and deliver novel experiences online.

Developments

As more SaaS solutions become available in what is already a fragmented space, we expect the pace of consolidation to increase and more SaaS aggregators to emerge.

Additionally, consolidation amongst SaaS aggregators has also begun. In January of this year, WeCommerce announced it will merge with Tiny to create a technology holding company worth nearly $1bn. As the industry continues to evolve, we expect to see more consolidation in the future.
